The end of class changes from class to class. When the class is doing a lab the class is usually working right up to the bell because the labs take up the whole class period. If there is some time left the students use that time to clean up otherwise the teacher is cleaning and setting up for the next class during the passing time between classes. During the regular class the class usually ends about 2-3 minutes before the bell. That time is used so that the students can clean up their materials. The students also use that time to ask the teacher about assignments that are due or that they have missed and schedule appointments after school to make up the work. I will try to stop giving new material with about 5 minutes left in the class period. I will use the last few minutes to recap the class period, remind the student of homework, and to tell the students what to expect in the next class.
